These days (January 6-10), the city of Valparaiso, renowned for its cultural richness, becomes the epicenter of Particle Physics by hosting the prestigious international conference "The 9th International Conference on High Energy Particle and Nuclear Physics in the LHC Era". "The 9th International Conference on High Energy Particle and Nuclear Physics in the LHC Era"..

This event brings together leading scientists, academics and students from around the world to discuss the most recent advances in the field, as well as the challenges and opportunities that this discipline presents.

Organized by renowned institutions and with the collaboration of leading experts in the field, the congress includes a wide range of activities, such as keynote lectures, working sessions and panel discussions. Topics range from the theoretical exploration of elementary particles to the latest experimental discoveries at accelerators such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

More than 130 registrants are participating in the event, among them prominent members of the SAPHIR Millennium Institute; for example, its alternate director, Dr. Francisca Garay Walls, along with research associates, Drs. Alfonso Zerwekh (Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María), Giovanna Cottin (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile), and Juan Carlos Helo (Universidad de La Serena), who are actively contributing to the occasion. In addition, Dr. Toshihiko Ota, young researcher from SAPHIR (Universidad de La Serena), is also present.

In various sessions of the congress, our postdoctoral researchers, Drs. Marco Ayala and Yohan Oviedo, present their scientific advances. Also, in line with our commitment to strengthen advanced human capital, SAPHIR doctoral students, Adless Castillo and Daniella Mora, also participate in the event.

This congress offers a unique platform to foster international collaboration, present new research and explore the impact of particle physics in areas such as cosmology, technology and society in general.

With a dynamic atmosphere and the characteristic charm of Valparaíso as a backdrop, the event promises to be an unforgettable space for the exchange of ideas and the generation of new perspectives in the world of physics.
