Today, Thursday, December 5th, a framework agreement was signed between our Millennium Institute, SAPHIR, and the renowned technical-professional school AIEP, part of UNAB.
The signing ceremony was attended by the director of SAPHIR, Dr. Sergey Kuleshov, the rector of AIEP, Ms. María Loreto Ferrari, the executive director of SAPHIR, Mr. Felipe Olivares, and the director of International Affairs of SAPHIR, Mr. Jack Brady.
The agreement and subsequent signature between these parties, seals and promotes the formal link of technicians coming from AIEP to SAPHIR, with the aim of inserting them into the working world and linking them to scientific projects, both nationally and abroad.
"In order to materialize this agreement into concrete facts, we are about to send 2 technicians from AIEP to an international CERN project located in the United Kingdom, specifically at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire. Therefore, the signing of this agreement marks the beginning of a systematic project, in which AIEP is offered the possibility of positioning its students at the frontier of science", explains Felipe Olivares León, executive director of SAPHIR.
The linkage agreement is related to several programs, among them: Promotion of Employability, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Support for SMEs, and Learning and Service; without discounting other actions of relationship with the environment. In the words of Jack Brady, SAPHIR's Director of International Affairs: "This agreement establishes collaboration mechanisms for dissemination, but also constitutes a network that promotes the formation of human capital and work in scientific matters abroad. Specifically in the United Kingdom".
