With great enthusiasm, we lived the second edition of the Summer Internships of the Millennium Institute SAPHIR with a focus on undergraduate students of Physics and Engineering Physics from different universities nationwide.

On this occasion, the Institute opened a call for five internships led by researchers Sergey Kuleshov, Francisca Gray, Marco Urelio Diaz, Francisco Molina, Juan Carlos Helo and Marco Ayala.

The inauguration took place at the Campus Casona of the Universidad Andres Bello, where internships on technologies and instrumentation for particle physics were held, with the participation of more than 25 students from different universities such as the U. Católica de Chile, U. Santiago de Chile, U. de Concepción and U. Andres Bello.

The opening day was attended by UNAB's Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Studies, Carolina Torrealba, the Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences of UNAB, Pierre Paul Romagnoli, and the director and academic of UNAB, Sergey Kuleshov.

The event opened with a reception and an introductory masterclass on particle physics, given by SAPHIR Millennium Institute research associate and UNAB academic, Jilberto Zamora. The objective of the internship was to provide students with an immersion in the fascinating world of particle physics through theoretical and practical activities.

The entire process was led by the postdoctoral researcher of the SAPHIR Millennium Institute, Marco Ayala. This year, the methodology adopted will be in lecture format followed by laboratory practices, with the purpose of allowing participants to set up practical experiments and apply the knowledge acquired.

In this regard, Marco Ayala said: "This second edition of the internships will be in lecture format, followed by laboratory practice. The objective is to be able to set up practical experiments, providing students with a comprehensive experience in the field of particle physics".

This program seeks to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences, contributing to the academic and professional development of future scientists and engineers in physics.
