The collaboration between the SAPHIR Millennium Institute, dedicated to subatomic physics at the high energy frontier, and the Chilean Nuclear Energy Commission (CCHEN) is a strategic and fundamental step in strengthening frontier scientific research in Chile. This alliance represents a model of inter-institutional cooperation that enhances national capabilities in highly specialized areas, promoting the advancement of knowledge in particle physics, the formation of advanced human capital and technological development with international projection.

The SAPHIR Institute, as a center of scientific excellence, focuses on the study of fundamental phenomena of the universe at subatomic scales, actively participating in major international collaborations, such as those of CERN. For its part, CCHEN provides a high-level experimental infrastructure and experience in nuclear techniques, elements that are highly complementary to SAPHIR's research objectives. This synergy allows not only to expand the experimental capabilities available in the country, but also to promote joint projects ranging from theoretical simulations to the design and testing of detectors, analysis of high-energy data and derived technological applications.

The alliance also has a significant impact on the national scientific ecosystem: it strengthens the link between basic and applied science, generates opportunities for the training of young scientists in a multidisciplinary environment, and positions Chile as a relevant player in the international scientific community in high-energy physics. In addition, by connecting infrastructure and highly specialized technical knowledge, new possibilities are opened for the development of local capabilities in strategic areas such as nuclear safety, nuclear medicine and advanced instrumentation.

This collaboration has been the result of SAPHIR's active commitment to establish solid links between fundamental research in particle physics and the technological capabilities present in the country. Thanks to this effort, SAPHIR maintains an active and direct collaboration with the CERN laboratory in Europe, integrating Chile into high impact international research networks. The joint work with CCHEN was highlighted during the 61st anniversary ceremony of the Commission, where SAPHIR's key role in strengthening this strategic alliance was recognized. This recognition underlines the relevance of such collaboration for national scientific development and the consolidation of a research community articulated around frontier challenges.

In summary, the collaboration between SAPHIR and CCHEN is a milestone in the consolidation of a scientific policy that promotes frontier research, fosters institutional cooperation and lays the foundations for a solid, autonomous national science with global projection.
