Cs part of the SAPHIR Millennium Institute's collaboration with the European Center for Nuclear Research, CERN, our technical and scientific team makes constant trips to the organization's facilities in Geneva.

Marco holds a Ph. D. in Physics from the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Cinvestav).Cinvestav), located in Mexico. He is affiliated with the Universidad Andres Bello and the Millennium Institute SAPHIR.

He spent a month at the European center to work on the following projects NA64 y SND@LHC. "I participated in the commissioning of the first module of a subsystem designed and built by our team at UNAB-SAPHIR. I participated in the commissioning of the first module of a subsystem designed and built by our team at UNAB-SAPHIR. The subsystem consists of 6 modules and is called Synchrotron Radiation Detector (SRD). SRD will be installed in the NA64 experiment", says the PhD in Physics.

Regarding his work at SND@LHC, he notes that he participated in the study of the electronics and correction of acquisition channels of the "Shashlik"(an instrument designed and built at UNAB-SAPHIR)which will be installed in the next upgrade of the experiment.

D. in Physics, points out that it is within the plans to return to CERN to advance with the beam tests of the calorimeter (Shashlik) and in the project that seeks to detect dark matter, NA64. (In this beam test we will also study hodoscopes that we are testing in our laboratories. In addition, I will assemble and install all the modules of our SRD detector inside NA64," he says.

Regarding the challenges addressed, he comments that the area of experimental physics tends to be highly complex, not only in the implementation of a project, but also due to external difficulties such as the acquisition or adaptation of specific material or equipment.

"The implementation of simulation-based experiments always presents unforeseen circumstances. There are details, impossible to predict with total precision, that complicate the development of our work. On this occasion, the initial configuration (of a piece of equipment) required a restructuring of the communication system between the power supplies."
